The History of the Weapons

The training and application of the weapons depend predominantly on the nature of the weapon. Some of the techniques were created from experiences during the hunt, others from contemplation of how to parry a certain attack. In addition to the weapons that were specifically developed against the use of already existing weapons, a great deal was made from agricultural equipment. Even though most of the fighting styles in China were firstly created for an unarmed combat, their principals such as footwork and strategy to increase their effectiveness, can be applied to the weapons as well. The weapon forms are subdivided in long weapons, short weapons and flexible weapons.
